Looking forward to next years fair season

I know its still early to be looking ahead to 2010 fair season, but i just cant help it. With so many possible opportunities to be at new fairs. Its just so exciting. We are so excited to be working with Cow Palace and San Mateo Farm Bureau to be putting on an ag.education day(stay tuned for details). And there is always exciting stuff going on in the bay area. All the while I keep thinging up new ways to bring agriculture to the general public.
Cant wait for IAFE please look us up we will be in booth #442. That way we can share our new ideas with you. And as always you can keep track of us on Twitter. We are kind of addicted to tweeting ag facts and sharing the newest ag story.

unpacking to pack again

It seems I had three suitcases to unpack when I got home. One from my trip to the midwest and 2 i still hadn't unpacked from earlier trips in the summer. So i spent all day yesterday washing and folding clothes. Just to have to pack them again in a week to head up north. Thats right I'm on the move again. This time to the Central Washington fair in Yakima, WA. I'm excited never been there before but I have heard good things. I look forward to the adventure and meeting new people.

Minnesota State fair is over....

I would like to thank our sponsors for having us at the Minnesota State fair, Minnesota Farmers Union, Minnesota FRAC, Minnesota Farm Bureau and Minnesota MidWest Dairy Association. We had a great time getting to meet the public and educate them about agriculture. We feel like we accomplished our goal of teaching the public one thing new about about agriculture.
We made new friends and saw familiar faces. We loved the Moo Booths new look and even enjoyed volunteering in the booth. Thank you to everyone who made our experience at the Minnesota State fair. We can't wait for next year.

Minnesota State Fair!!!

Today was the first day of the Minnesota State Fair and it was a great day!! The fair was packed with enthustatic fair goers. The barns are filled with beautiful animals and great exhibitors. And of course I am in awe of the Moo Booth. Doris Mold and her team did an awesome job. I only wish we can get something similiar out in California. The tours were awesome and the people walked away learning one thing new about agriculture. And as long as they learn one thing new they will pass on the information to others. As long as we can teach the consumer what we do on the farm they will make informed decisions at the grocery store and at the polls. So reach out and teach someone one thing new about agriculture today!!

Great times and great people!!

Its sad that the Indiana state fair is over. It was such a great experience with the Farm Bureau and everyone that works for them. The tours went great and everyone loved them and I do believe they all learned one thing new. The weather was nice to me and didn't turn up the humidity so I loved it. But now that the fair is ended it is time to start my road trip to Minnesota for yet another great fair. Chase and I are off to see Notre Dame and then the world. HAHA. Not quite the world but at least the mid west. I made him promise me that we will see the birth place of John Deere. So stay tuned.

Listening to the rain!

So as I listen to the rain here at my hotel I just wish i can bottle it up and bring it home with me later cause we all know California could use a little. And this time change is so kicking my butt. And I hate car rental places right now. Because I lost my credit cards(even though I have cash/travelers checks) no go on the rental car. But don't worry i have the best bank and they are fed ex-ing me my debit/check card card ASAP and then i can get it. Otherwise I have 2 feet and i'm not afraid of busses or taxis til then. But it does suck. As my dad would say this builds character.

Crazy idea that just might work!

So I was having lunch the other day with my favorite Clown Mr. Tadpole and he gave me this idea that worked for them and it might just work for me.
The idea is to offer a free demo at a fair for one day on what we do. That way a fair can truly get a feel of what I do and how I can benefit their fair. Its so crazy it might just work. Now the hard part is to figure out how to put a one day demo together for each of our programs. I love how I have ideas that lead to more work.

School is winding down and the fair is gearing up. The Agriculture and Garden building at the Alameda County fair is going to be fun filled. It will be packed with educational displays and demos. As well as activities for every age group. I can't wait to see all the booths coming in and the exhibits start pouring in. Hopefully we will see everyone there to get out the fair and all the great concerts and exhibits. See ya there!!

Ag Day Camp in the works!

Well my creative mind is hard at work. I am in planning stages of creating a day camp that focus on all different angles of agriculture. The day camp will try to set it's daily schedule to California Ed codes as well as Day camp standards for obtaining life skills. We are excited for the camp and plan on having a couple pilot days at the Alameda County Fair this summer if all goes well. I will be updating the progress of the day camp on here so keep checking in from time to time.

You be the judge!!!

I just wanted to share with everyone that I am putting together a new program called " You be the judge! ". It was inspired thanks to working with the talented people at Alameda County Fair. It takes the public through the process of juding livestock animals and key terms used. And we have judging stations set up and a score card to keep track of the progress made. This allows the public to better connect to show ring and understand what they are watching and listening too. This should be a new and exciting way for the puiblic to see the livestock barns and truly feel apart of the fair experience.
